These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the SERA website and student platform. By creating an account or using SERA, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
1. About SERA
SERA (Student Empowerment & Resource Access) provides students with access to education resources, opportunity listings, mentorship connections, and related tools. SERA is operated from Tanzania with a pan-African vision.
2. Eligibility
You must provide accurate information when registering. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use automated scripts or bots to overload, scrape, or disrupt the platform
- Attempt to access another user’s account or private data
- Upload false, misleading, or harmful content
- Use SERA for unlawful purposes or to harass others
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules or threaten the security of other users.
4. Opportunities and third-party links
Opportunity listings, scholarships, and external links are provided for information. SERA does not guarantee availability, accuracy, or outcomes of third-party programs. Always verify deadlines and requirements on the official provider’s website.
5. Your content
Information you add to your profile remains yours. You grant SERA a limited licence to store and display it solely to provide the service (e.g. showing your profile to you and authorised administrators). We do not claim ownership of your personal content.
6. Privacy
Your use of SERA is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect personal data. Creating an account requires your agreement to both documents.
7. Service availability
We aim to keep SERA available and secure, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Maintenance, updates, or factors outside our control may occasionally affect the service.
8. Limitation of liability
SERA is provided “as is” to the fullest extent permitted by law. We are not liable for indirect losses arising from use of the platform, missed application deadlines, or reliance on third-party opportunities. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the past 12 months (which is zero for the free student platform).
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
